Mission
Many of my guests return every year for safari and to meet with their mission partners. I am able to help them plan every aspect of their tip in advance. One year we assembled 100 kits for newborns and their mamas. We shopped in Arusha for supplies (see top photo).
We rely on the land in Tanzania to survive. My love of farming has turned into one of my personal mission projects: to help Iambi Lutheran Hospital farm 130 acres of land. Click here for more about the Iambi Farm.
I love to help my guests with their outreach work. Sometimes this means I serve as a Swahili interpreter. Other times it means I jump into the work, like this time when my guest Tim and I fixed a reader for a pastor who is nearly blind. Now he is able to read music again.
Groups often travel to Tanzania to take part in some form of outreach. While our country is a peaceful country, nearly half of all Tanzanians live in poverty. Lack of clean drinking water, limited access to proper healthcare, and poor education systems (particularly in rural areas) all contribute to high levels of poverty. Your compassion brings good news to the people of Tanzania.
I have led groups from churches, colleges, and hospitals to a variety of locations throughout Tanzania. Whether you already have your outreach project arranged or need assistance connecting to a local organization, I would love to help your group. Special pricing is available for groups whose primary reason for visiting is for outreach. Please mention your group’s plan when requesting a quote.
One afternoon I met this wonderful woman, Asia. She was 100 years old and had been using a plastic chair to help her walk. I helped a visiting group of medical professionals teach Asia how to use a new walker to safely get around. God bless all who visit Tanzania to help others.
